
Jackfruit Carnitas Tacos
Young jackfruit shredded and crisped to mimic carnitas.
Ingredients
- 2 cans young green jackfruit in brine, drained
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- Corn tortillas, onion, cilantro, lime
Instructions

Rinse the jackfruit and shred it with your hands, removing tough cores.

Saute onion and garlic in oil until soft.

Add the jackfruit, cumin, oregano, orange juice and soy sauce.

Simmer 15 minutes until the liquid reduces.

Spread on a sheet pan and broil 5 to 8 minutes until crisped at the edges.

Serve with onion, cilantro and lime.
