About Taco Scene

Taco Scene started with a simple frustration: the best tacos are rarely the most famous ones. They're in gas stations, strip malls, and trucks that only locals know about.

We're building the compass for taco lovers — a community-driven map of America's best taquerias, the recipes behind them, and the stories that make taco culture worth celebrating.

Everything here is powered by the community: reviews, votes, rankings, and submissions from people who actually eat the tacos.

Our history

It began as a spreadsheet. A cross-country road trip, a column for city, a column for "taco", and a very subjective 1–10 scale.

The spreadsheet became a group chat. The group chat became an argument about whether birria belongs dipped or undipped. The argument became Taco Scene.

Today we're a community of taco lovers mapping every great taqueria in America — one tortilla at a time.
